Bright Futures Ahead
Twenty-three Northwest students receive Evans
Scholarships
Twenty-three high school seniors in Oregon and Washington, who have
spent a portion of the past two years working as a caddie, will be
attending college next fall on the lucrative Evans Scholarship.
At separate meetings this spring in Oregon and Washington, nominees
were awarded the four-year scholarships that cover tuition and on-campus
housing.
In Oregon, significant past contributions to the Evans Scholarship
Foundation have been recognized with the naming of special awards.
This year, the ELON ELLIS AWARD went to Shane Harper of Bend. Harper
did his caddie work at Bend Golf and Country Club and attends Bend
High.
The CECIL AND MARY STEVENS AWARD went to Sterling Lentz of Coos Bay.
Lentz worked at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and attends Marshfield High.
In Washington, the DR. JAMES ALLISON AWARD went to Brandon Rogers
of Aberdeen, who caddied at Grays Harbor Country Club.
