Some Views Just Never Change

One of the most picturesque stretches of holes in the Northwest today looks very much the same as it did 75 years ago. This is a photo from 1930 of the seventh hole at Victoria Golf Club, overlooking Oak Bay and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Victoria golf professional Phil Taylor finishes up his swing in this image from the June 1930 issue of Northwest Golfer & Country Club Magazine.

Numerous historical golf photos from throughout the Northwest such as this one are on display at the British Columbia Golf Museum. The museum, situated on the grounds of University Golf Course in Vancouver, is located at 2545 Blanca St. More information is available at its web site, www.bcgolfmuseum.org, or by calling 604-222-4653.
